  1. EOTD: Purple with MAC

    Jun 3, 2011

My belated pressies from sis ^^ Canmake Melty Nude Lip 04 and MAC Evil Queen Vile Violet eyeshadow.
The eyeshadow is super matte, and some reviews have said it is too chalky to get it on brush. Agreed. I still have trouble picking it up from my elf eyeshadow brush. Although it appears dark on the finger when swatch, but I can't seem to transfer it well onto my eyes (you can see the swatch don't come out much on the skin). I tried to wet my brush with some saline lotion, it turns eeky on the skin. Ain't trying that anymore. Any suggestion?
So, I need some "help" from Shu Uemura Fluorescent palette. I'll use the purple glitter eyeliner over the eyelids, as a base. Then packed heavily on top with MAC Vile Violet.
Well, of course with other 'assistance' from the above tools to make me look pretty ^^ Daiso Blush (review), Rimmer Mascara (review) also with Dejavu Fiberwig and Averine Mineral loose powder (I can't seem to finish this~)
I love purple. Do you love purple? If you do, we are buddies lol Confession, my first few attempts with purple eyeshadows resulted with comments from friends "what's wrong with your eye?" and "why is your eyes swollen?" Not happy days >.< But I don't give up, I learn from gurus all over the world on their eotds and tutorials. I'm more of a blog stalker than a blog writer (after 5 days of not online, I get 1000+ new posts to read on my reader ^^). So if you think I have improved from those comments, let me know!
    Coming up, purple eyes~

  2. I got this many months back, but did not had the chance to share them. Slacking~ Apologies hehe
This is one of my favourite palette, Lunasol Sheer Contrast Eyes Palette model 01 Coral Coral, you can see the whole range here. If you must know one thing about Lunasol eyeshadows, know this from me, they are super pigmented and glossy! I use the word 'glossy' although it is not a gel type, but their shimmer are the finest most sparkly that I have come across for any eyeshadows. You want highlights? Try Lunasol.
    A. Pink B. Light Brown C. Dark Brown D. Pearl
I could use this everyday, but I'll be heartbroken if I pan it out lol It's very soft colours, except for the dark brown so it is buidable for a smokey eyes as well. Well, I can't just create a face with this palette alone, so here are the other tools:
The star product is the Lunasol Sheer Contrast Eyes Palette model 01 Coral Coral of course. I also use Kanebo T'estimo Brow Make Compact BR-35 (waxy) & Star Dazzling Liner (gel), Shu Uemura Pro Concealer (cream) & Eyelash Curler, Rimmel Great Curl Mascara, Daiso Cheek Blush.
Above: Not that right. Too much blush I think, and I look angry here lol
Above: The skin colour is just not that right I reckon. Let me just comb my hair...
Yup, bronzing and contouring does make a lot of difference to our skin colour. Although I wish I am much fairer, but I also like a healthy glow on myself.

Do you have any Lunasol eyeshadow palettes that you love? Share with me in your comment!

  3. Where abouts of ELLE

    Jul 24, 2010

If you think that I have not been reading your blogs, thousand apologies! I currently have a few 1000+ post unread >.< and I am trying me best to read them up! I have been working, and working, and working. But also having a wee bit fun with some fellow Malaysian bloggers ^^v

    LifeCode

Review of this will be coming (sorry Tammy & Chris!). Met up with lots of bloggers, Pinky, Susan, Reiko, Pauline, Sue, Stellarvixen, Fiona, Wing. Their reviews are up and running so just click on their links!

    TGIF

Met up with Nix, Jerry, Tammy, Stellarvixen, Wing, Fatin,at TGIF to celebrate Nix birthday! Nix & Jerry are makeup artist, so I got lots of tips from them and some crazy scary ghost stories too! lol

    Shu Uemura

This was the launching collection of Neo-Tokyo Odyssey lashes, great mini food (well, it ain't mini if you go 10 rounds like me!). Fatin has lots of pictures at her blog, and Tammy got a whole album of pictures at her facebook, Kelly was there, with Alexis too! But the best pictures of ME is at Stellarvixen album hehe

    Salabianca Revolutionize

I went to this for the Salabianca bracelet only (muahahaha) but met up with lovely Fatin & Tammy & Jean & Sharon & Doroshi. This event also do up your hair and with MAC makeup but I really really just want the bracelet only (muahahaha again ;p) so I skip that hair & makeup session (big mistake!) and I don't like the pictures that came out >.< But I still have the Salabianca bracelet (ok no more evil laugh) and a wonderful lunch with the gals!

Phew this post is kinda tiring, compare to the others because I went searching for pictures and the right links! But it was all worth it, because I met so many amazing gals with same interest with me (my SO can rest his ears now, as I got a gang of gals to talk makeup with!).

Have a fabulous weekend~ Where will you be? ^^

  4. EOTD gold then purple

    Jun 20, 2010

Just a few EOTDs to share and perhaps get some helpful tips on what I should and should not do next time. I'm quite new on EOTDs, but I love colours and love to mix things up from different palettes and not just stick to one. A really bad habit of mine is: lay out all the e/s colours and then pick and choose! Not very safe eh cause' colours might clash lol

I got this lovely Shu Uemura palette from Fatin @ Chocolatecatsz and it is really beautiful! So is she ^_*
This palette comes with 3 e/s (gold bronze, burgundy, baby blue) and a natural beige can be either for face contour (I usually mix this with a sparkly blusher so that it is less sparkly). I <3 the gold bronze and use it many many times now.

OK, for my next EOTD I'll be using the lovely purplish Coffret D'or (again hehe).
Face: L'egere BB Cream (I think it's spf 27 - read it on internet)
    Eye base/primer: Lunasol
    Mascara: Maybelline Magnum Volume
    Lip: Stila Lip Gloss
    Eyeliner: BeneFit BadGal
    Blush: FrontCover
I love the flat head PopBeauty e/s brush

I tried to do a successful swatch with this palette, but I don't know how the light plum colour does not show up that obvious in my swatch. I really like this plum colour, although you may not see it that clear here (as I got a lousy phone camera >.<) but it is like a combination of purple and pink!

I have really weird eye shape as I can't seem to connect my eyeliner at the far end corner. If I draw them connected, I kinda have droopy eyes. So I am at wits end what to do! So normally I just leave it out, not connecting my eyeliner, so there is always a gap there.

Hope you like my photos, I love creating these as I just bought plentyful of digital scrap booking images, and using the free Microsoft Publisher is awesome! I have created a few calendar desktop wallpapers, if any of you want it, leave your email or contact me and I'll forward them to you ^^

  5. More presents for Elle! I have a lovely package from my sis (she knows I adore bows!) and I got an eyebrow voucher at Benefit counter! Also Benefit BAD gal liner waterproof pencil eyeliner and some samples!

I've used this a few days now and it hardly smudge, it's fantastic for waterline lashes especially on my bottom eye. I can create a very clean dramatic eyes with this. Opps I got to go sharpen it now!

My dad loves his starbucks mug and he made me a member, too! Now I get $2 off for my coffee everytime at starbucks, thanks dad! My mum got me some earrings, phone charms and a heart brooch. Thanks mum! (oh yeah I did some swatch of the Benefit eyeliner on my hands earlier hehe)

Alright, I tried to do a pink and grey combination here, I lurve both colours and saw it somewhere that this is do-able and can be beautiful, but of coz done expertly by a professional! I did my best as an enthusiast hehe and here is what I used for my  eyes:

I used Lunasol Eye Base as eye primer, follow by a dash of Kanebo T'estimo silver glitters, then follow by the famous Jill Stuart jelly  pink e/s on the entire eyelids. Then with my e.l.f e/s brush, I used the pink from Shu Uemura palette on the inner eyes, and a darker pink from the Pop Beauty Day-to-Night palette. For the outer corner of my eyes, I used the grey from  Pop Beauty.
Then of coz my new Benefit eyeliner pencil, and a line of gold shimmer from the Shu Uemura with my flat head brush (lurves this brush!) on top of the black eyeliner. Lastly, Kate mascara for upper eyelashes and Dejavu Fiberwig for lower and corner lashes. Phew..here is what my eyes look like ('cuse the bad camera >.<):

    With sunlight, no flash
    With flash

I really like how the grey kinda make a contour for my eyes, as I am nil on eye socket haha Well, this is incomparable with the gals out there doing fantastic EOTDs (don't every stop, as I get inspiration from you gals!) I rather learn from bloggers than models because I think it's more real and I can relate to it better than looking at magazines of models.

Next post: Giveaway is 1kg as Elle added more goodies!

  6. You know the song, but I guess I'm a little bit late for Christmas post, so it's gonna be for 2010 New Year! What a great 2009 Christmas isn't it, everyone? I've been busy shopping (yes, everyone does that!) and busy reading my followers posts as well! That's why the absentee of my Christmas post. I reckon I got to do this, before I get busy again reading all your 2010 New Year posts LoL ^^

So what have we all been all doing??? Hauling of course! This is just a mini haul I got and here it is!

Freshel Cleansing Oil: Huge bottle for A$10 bargain! I've no longer using ZA Cleansing oil and this work the same. My next bottle will be the famous Shu Uemura ^^
Freshel Toner: Also A$10 and it claims to clear dead cells/skins too. I just like it as it does make my moisturiser absorbs well into the skin.
Coffret Dor Silver Glitter Eyeliner: A$10, but it was not as I expected. The whole glitter is made up of glue, so once I got this on my eyelids, and once it is dry, it can be pull out in a single line! >.< So I was advise to dap it instead of drawing it in a single line around the eyelids (up & bottom) Will do a swatch for ya to see.
Lunasol Eye Base: A$20, this is the best eye primer! Previously I was using P&J but I think its abit tad too thick, and this Lunasol is purrfect! Amazingly the eyeshadows stay ON the eye for the whole day! I heard it comes in 2 shades, but I didn't see any other at the counter.
Kanebo Nail Polish: A$1, oh well it's not Anna Sui but who can resist the price hehe

Who would not want this??? This baby Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato lucly eyeshadow palette is my new year toy! It's so shimmer and glossy, gr8 for day & night. Splurge on it, gals, there is no wrong having this baby. No one have mention this in other blogs, but I just luv the BIG mirror! You know how palette comes in small sizes and some don't even have a mirror on it? Well this is the best mirror I have had on any of the palettes I came across. Save a spot in the bag! No reviews on the complimentary cleanser and toner yet as I have yet to use it. I've never try them, but I will soon!

I found it! This is the best invention for hair by far! Only RM15 (after hours and hours at Sg Wang) and the last one on the shelf too (one of those stalls, I don't think I can even remember going back there anymore, it's such a maze there!). It comes in 2 bands, and everyone can be a princess now! Come on, I want to look like those Koreans/Japanese newscaster on teli!

So how was your new years? I can see lots of posts is up and I apologise first if I'm not back in a week, as I have been reading your blogs (and still reading them ^^).

    2010 New Year's Resolutions here I declare:

    • Eat more healthily (less oil, less salt, more vege)

    • Sleep earlier, like before midnight (meaning read blogs earlier in the morning, not till wee hours at night >.<)

    • Feed Dory less, I don't want her to be a huge pug!

    • Beauty Resolutions: See reviews before buying/hauling

    • Learn how to face contour

    • Do more swaps
OK, off to read your blogs now! xoxo elle

  7. Like all beauty junkies, we all have our skin regime, so I would like to share mine with you all.
Skin Type: Sensitive Oily with visible pores (smoker, that's why have larger pores). My sensitivity is not about redness, but when a product does not suit me, it just become super oily (I can scrap the oil off my face and fry an egg!). So these are also some of my staples, therefore it is also my Wish List to swap them!

    1. Clinique Eye Makeup Remover: Usually I will use a cotton bud to dip into this to remove really stubborn eyeliner or mascara from the eye.
    2. L'occitane Milk Makeup Remover: Staple! Love this to the max, it's milk but turn watery once touches makeup. I put this on a wet cotton pad on my heavily makeup eye and leave it there for awhile. This is not a TOTALLY good makeup remover for the entire face, but it is especially good to remove just the eyemakeup. It soften the mascara and remove any glitter or shimmer around the eyes completely.
    3. L'occitane Cleansing Water: Staple! I only uses this just before I go to bed because my face does turn oily fast. As I have oily skin even during winter, this is good for me to remove excess oil. Face without much oil will attract less dirt on the face that may cause clogged pores and later inflammation (acne!! grrr!!). So, this is good only as a mattifier on a clean face.
    4. Za Cleansing Oil: Staple! Lots of bad review on this, as it is just a basic mineral oil, can be replaced by baby oil as many assumed, but this is really good because it does turn to white liquid when it touches the makeup (oxidation occurs, whereas a non-proper cleansing oil will not do that). I massage my entire face with this for about 2 minutes. It does feels like having a coat of oil on the face. It doesn't sting the eyes, even when I am wearing contact lens. It really dissolves all makeup. This is not easily wash off with water (oil and water do not mix!), so best to follow up with either a cream, gel or foam cleanser.
    5. Garnier Gentle Clarifying Foam: Staple! I love this, as it is not that harsh on the face and it really clean up the face squeky clean. I think this is not available in many countries. In fact, it is not even available here in Australia >.< Running out of this very soon, so I'll be looking for a new foam cleanser.
    6. Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2in1 Mask: This is a clay mask, really does the drying up good, leaves a soothing feeling. It's not harsh to use it often.
    7. Biotherm Biopur Pore Reducer: Just started using this. As a smoker, I do have visibly pores. I do feel it tighten my pores, but when I wash it off, the feeling is gone. Will not repurchase.
    8. Kose Seikisho Exfoliator: Heavy with herbal smells. Black colour cream. Not an extremely special exfoliator. Will not repurchase.
    9. Shu Uemura Brush Cleanser: As my makeup brushes were turning disgusting, I bought this to wash them. Will not repurchase as I find my brushes are hard to dry after washing and I dare not put near the heater to dry them. How do you girls clean your brushes???
What I miss out in this photo:
    1. Kose Seikisho White Mask (peel): Heavy with herbal smells and black colour cream. Am not a fan of peeling mask, so I will change it. I will try the Kose Japan Hyaluronic Acid Mask (comes in 22 sheets in a yellow box) when my Sasa haul arrives!

to be continue Part 2 (Moisturisers/Treatments)
