  1. Loreal Curl Impact Collagene, Curl-Fixing Volume Mascara. Quite a mouthful name, but the word I was caught at is "collagene". In a mascara? Have to do wonders to my lashes right?
Packaging: Bold gold tube. Look expensive, doesn't it?
Brush: Shape of the letter 'S'. Bristles are very compacted together.
Smell: This is abit tricky. It has a quite strong clean hospital smell. It's not bad or fouling, perhaps that's the "collagen" smell. But it is strong, because I get a whiff of it everytime I use it on my mascara. Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad smell, but it is there.
Curl & Length: It works! But I don't know why I am not wow by the result. I got a feeling many mascara can do this too.
Volume: At least it doesn't clump up the lashes. Nope, not much volumising there. Well, that can only be fix by fiber mascara, fake lashes or lash growth serum ^^
Strength: I think this is a strong mascara. When I opened my eyes, it can create an eyelid fold above it, and hold it there!

Removing it was a breeze, it kinda melts away with my cleansing oil or gel cleanser.
Overall, I give it 3/5 kisses. And I still very love Loreal Paris :)

  2. I had pan out my Maybelline Volume mascara (yellow tube - finally! it last quite many months) and Bourjois  Clubbing Ultra Black liquid liner (love this truly!). So when I went to Singapore for CNY, I bought these to try out:

Rimmel Great Curl Volume Mascara, I have not seen the packaging, with Japanese wordings. Although I am not too liking the brush shape, because I think I like comb shape brush hehe
Maybelline Hyper Diamonds liquid liner, I don't think it is as black as Bourjois but still do the job to give glitters :)
    Combined look:
Left: before mascara, Right: after mascara
I don't really have long or lush lashes hehe
That's face of the day FOTD above. I have also recently chomped off my long unhealthy hair. It is so easy to manage now, but I might return to the salon to thin it abit as I think it's still too much volume.
That's also the top of the day TOTD above. I bought this lovely top in Singapore too. It's one of the few tops that I can buy, because I seriously think Singaporeans are so very thin!

My thoughts of Rimmel Great Curl Volume Mascara: Like all brand new mascara, it is wet lol This is not waterproof, but it is not a problem for me, I like it that it is easy to wash off.

My thoughts of Maybelline Hyper Diamonds liquid liner: Not as black as it should be, more grayish silvery, but easy to draw on the eyes.

ps: I think I got both of this for like SGD15 each. I really want to try out Marjolica mascaras but have yet to have the heart to buy them, because mascaras always dried out and I like to buy a few mascaras rather than just ONE brand. Just my 2 cents ^^

  3. EOTD gold then purple

    Jun 20, 2010

Just a few EOTDs to share and perhaps get some helpful tips on what I should and should not do next time. I'm quite new on EOTDs, but I love colours and love to mix things up from different palettes and not just stick to one. A really bad habit of mine is: lay out all the e/s colours and then pick and choose! Not very safe eh cause' colours might clash lol

I got this lovely Shu Uemura palette from Fatin @ Chocolatecatsz and it is really beautiful! So is she ^_*
This palette comes with 3 e/s (gold bronze, burgundy, baby blue) and a natural beige can be either for face contour (I usually mix this with a sparkly blusher so that it is less sparkly). I <3 the gold bronze and use it many many times now.

OK, for my next EOTD I'll be using the lovely purplish Coffret D'or (again hehe).
Face: L'egere BB Cream (I think it's spf 27 - read it on internet)
    Eye base/primer: Lunasol
    Mascara: Maybelline Magnum Volume
    Lip: Stila Lip Gloss
    Eyeliner: BeneFit BadGal
    Blush: FrontCover
I love the flat head PopBeauty e/s brush

I tried to do a successful swatch with this palette, but I don't know how the light plum colour does not show up that obvious in my swatch. I really like this plum colour, although you may not see it that clear here (as I got a lousy phone camera >.<) but it is like a combination of purple and pink!

I have really weird eye shape as I can't seem to connect my eyeliner at the far end corner. If I draw them connected, I kinda have droopy eyes. So I am at wits end what to do! So normally I just leave it out, not connecting my eyeliner, so there is always a gap there.

Hope you like my photos, I love creating these as I just bought plentyful of digital scrap booking images, and using the free Microsoft Publisher is awesome! I have created a few calendar desktop wallpapers, if any of you want it, leave your email or contact me and I'll forward them to you ^^

  4. Inspired by NaTGN to do this post:

Every gal will have to start somewhere about their encounter with makeup/skincare. I was never really into these while growing up. I hardly have any makeup items. I only got dark red lippies, drugstore foundations, drugstore e/s palettes that last me for years! Not many jewelery or fashion accessories too. I din't have my ears pierced till I was 18. So how did this love for makeup started and when? Who is the real culprit?

I'll have to blame the ads, that made me keep wanting stuffs. I admit I'm heavily influence by ads, posters, and now those flashy bling ads on websites (yes, I'm those that click on web ads >.<). I'm curious, what can I say?

If you are a 90s kiddo, admit you own one of these:

YSL used to have the best looking palette around, gold super shiny reflective casing, always comes with black velvet cloth.
I can't forget my Givenchy mirror casing lipstick! At that time, it was like a thing from the future!
It doesn't seem to cost that much back then for Guerlain.
Obsessed with these coral casings of Elizabeth Arden
Even when the news came out about YSL lipsticks having the highest amount of lead in them, I'm still a big supporter of YSL.
    Not new now hehe
I used to feel so glamourous holding these gold Guerlain casing.
Seriously, who have not own a Maybelline wonder curl before???
    My earliest Revlon item
The 2nd best world lippy for me, this blue hexagon Christian Dior lipsticks!
Lip SPA, how can anyone not have them before?

You may not have seen these old archives ads before, and I grew up with them. These are the pioneers of makeup items, and now there are so many new brands that pop ups and shadow these classic brands. They don't seem to be that expensive back then, weird.

So those are the items that I truly first makeup encounter with, and then the ads gets better and better, so thats why I started buying and buying lol Month of May, buy only what's important.. ;p

  5. More presents for Elle! I have a lovely package from my sis (she knows I adore bows!) and I got an eyebrow voucher at Benefit counter! Also Benefit BAD gal liner waterproof pencil eyeliner and some samples!

I've used this a few days now and it hardly smudge, it's fantastic for waterline lashes especially on my bottom eye. I can create a very clean dramatic eyes with this. Opps I got to go sharpen it now!

My dad loves his starbucks mug and he made me a member, too! Now I get $2 off for my coffee everytime at starbucks, thanks dad! My mum got me some earrings, phone charms and a heart brooch. Thanks mum! (oh yeah I did some swatch of the Benefit eyeliner on my hands earlier hehe)

Alright, I tried to do a pink and grey combination here, I lurve both colours and saw it somewhere that this is do-able and can be beautiful, but of coz done expertly by a professional! I did my best as an enthusiast hehe and here is what I used for my  eyes:

I used Lunasol Eye Base as eye primer, follow by a dash of Kanebo T'estimo silver glitters, then follow by the famous Jill Stuart jelly  pink e/s on the entire eyelids. Then with my e.l.f e/s brush, I used the pink from Shu Uemura palette on the inner eyes, and a darker pink from the Pop Beauty Day-to-Night palette. For the outer corner of my eyes, I used the grey from  Pop Beauty.
Then of coz my new Benefit eyeliner pencil, and a line of gold shimmer from the Shu Uemura with my flat head brush (lurves this brush!) on top of the black eyeliner. Lastly, Kate mascara for upper eyelashes and Dejavu Fiberwig for lower and corner lashes. Phew..here is what my eyes look like ('cuse the bad camera >.<):

    With sunlight, no flash
    With flash

I really like how the grey kinda make a contour for my eyes, as I am nil on eye socket haha Well, this is incomparable with the gals out there doing fantastic EOTDs (don't every stop, as I get inspiration from you gals!) I rather learn from bloggers than models because I think it's more real and I can relate to it better than looking at magazines of models.

Next post: Giveaway is 1kg as Elle added more goodies!
