My first encounter with
Caudalie was about 4 years ago, 2008, when I swapped at
makeupalley. It was the
Caudalie Vinopure Purifying Mask (purple range). It was ok, or maybe I did not mask it enough hehe
Caudalie is from
France. The basis of it's products are from
grapes. The founders own a
winery in France and they expand to developing skincare somewhere in 1993.
Last year, I was invited by
Sasa Malaysia (organised by Sasa Hong Kong) to try out their new range,
Caudalie Vinosource (pink range).
That's their whole range, available exclusively in Sasa. This range is formulated specifically for
dehydrated and
sensitive skins. It contains
three key ingredients from the grape vine:-
- Grape Water® extracted from organic grapes during harvesting rich in polysaccharides that have the ability to capture water and conserve the quantity it needs within its cells;
- Vinolevure® (exclusive to Caudalie) which is extracted from the walls of wine yeast with unique hydrating, strengthening and protective qualities and can conserve up to 100 times its weight in water; and
- Grape-seed Polyphenols, the most powerful anti-oxidants in the plant kingdom, they block 100% of free radicals and are 10,000 times more effective than Vitamin E.
I was given a bottle of
Caudalie Vinosource Quenching Sorbet-Creme, full size 40ml, retail RM120 to try out. This post was delayed as I just recently finished it. I think it's only justify to give my thoughts about it after I ponder it's affect.
Texture: Light cream but turn liquid upon face, light a wet mousse.
Absorption: Very quick. Leave no residue.
Smell: None for me
Ingredients: There are
no harmful ingredients such as parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, coloring agents, mineral oils and silicones
Packaging: I love pumps because it is hygienic and great for travelling as it won't spill (I always keep caps). But this pump is not possible to open/detached from the bottle. So I can't really dig in for any last drop lol.
I have heard many experts saying that oily skin is also the result of dehydrated skin, as in not much moisture/water under the face epidermis. This medium size moisturiser lasted me about 2 months.
Verdict: I like it ^^ I will continue to use it. I have no breakout using this, except the occasional zits that occur prior menstrual. I do feel less oily on my face, but only a minimal less. It is not yet my personal HG moisturiser, but it can be considered. I'm looking forward to know my face condition after the 3rd bottle :)
