  1. Cellnique Part 1 Toner

    Sep 10, 2010

Recently there was lots of going on at home and at work, and was not able to do my blogging. At work, my own business is running an expansion, with lots of new knowledge to acquire and master with. And lots of extra clients to provide assistance to. But that's all good because it means more income ^^

At home, my dear Aunt Jenny (dad's younger sister) has recently passed away in Ipoh. It was very unexpected and her demise is much cried. Aunt Jenny was a very beautiful lady when she was young. In the early 1970s, guys in Mercedes will come to woo her at m y grandma's home ^^ I think it was Auntie Jenny that introduced me into nail polish and red lipsticks. I'll always remember her fondly..

Well, onwards to more happier stuffs, which is my beauty reviews!

YAY My Cellnique parcel is here!

Huge box with 4 items, their best selling ones! From left:
    • Advanced Bio Renewal Masque (Mask) RM 159 for 50g
    • Soothing & Hydrating Lotion (Toner) RM 79 for 200ml
    • Amino Collagen C Intense Set (Serum) RM 299 for 2x10ml
    • Skin Action Sebum Gel RM 159 for 30ml

Total estimated RM 700 worth of skincare! Gals, this is a splurge package. My advice, if budget is a problem, try their products one at a time. Go try out their facial and spa sessions, and if you really like the products and works for you, then go to Sasa and get those stamps!

What is Cellnique? Founded by Mr Chew (electric engineering background!), launched around 1997 in Malaysia and later in Singapore. Cellnique is very agressively active in the beauty blogger world because of their generousity in giving out samples for us to try before we buy. So, there was alot of good reviews out there, let's check out mine.

For the last 6 months I have been using these brands of toner.

    From left, always ^^v
    • Skin Conditioner by Naris Up for 360ml - Huge bargain for this toner, because it is huge and cheap, for a toner that claims to have collagen. I wish this is a great toner for me to keep, but it isn't. My moituriser does not, I repeat DOES NOT absorb into my skin after this toner. Totally weird and annoying, because I feel like it is wasting my moituriser, and acting as a barrier. So, not a good toner.
    • Acmedica by Naris Up for 150ml - Nyeh, did not stop any pimple from popping up eventhough it said this is a medicated toner. But at least it did allow my moisturiser to melt into my skin hehe
    • Freshel Lotion by Kanebo for 200ml - Best toner for me this year, as I've used 2 bottles already! It can also cleanse off excess makeup and oil on my face, so its NOT just water.

What I like: The spray cap. Most toner you need to pour it out. With this, I just spray it straight on my clean face (with eyes close of course ^_*). It smell of herbal because of the 14 plant extract ingredients. No, I did not have any allergic reaction to it. Does my moisturiser sink into my face after toning? Yes, indeed. Basically, that is what I want most with my toner.

This is my own test on good toner & good moisturiser. Far left, is my clean matte face after toning with Cellnique and moisturise with Freshel Milk Lotion. Faces going right side, are every hour after that. No longer matte face, but oilier and shinier (from 8pm to 11pm). Well, could be any reason, that my moisturiser is not hydrating enough or those 2 doesn't work well together, or something else. But in all honesty, I just think my face is super oily >.<

Well, comprehensive enough review? That's why I got to separate these into few parts. If you have used this Cellnique Soothing & Hydrating Lotion, leave me a comment of your feedback or a link to your review post if you made one. I'll love to hear your say and your experience on this. So will my readers :)

  2. Celdie & Acmedica

    May 13, 2010

My giveaway is packed & sent! Lookout, iPeh~

Went to Watson and found this new product on the shelf. Celdie has a range of cleansers, you can choose either the gel or cream. Very affordable and there was an incentive for getting this, apple flavour, because it comes with a cute colourful zip pouch! I'm a sucker for GWPs ^^

Descriptions on the brochure: All-in-one Cleansers
Now you can save time and money with these great all-in-one cleansers from Japan, designed to remove makeup and cleanse skin at the same time! Choose from a wide selection to cater for all different skin types today!
    • Honey yogurt for baby soft skin (white)
    • Spa salt for skin with large pores (blue)
    • Charcoal for oily skin (grey)
    • Royal Jelly for line skin (orange)
    • Rosehip oil for intensive moisture (red)
    • Apple essence (AHA) for rough skin (green)

It really smells of green apple (lovely!) and the gel does not create foam nor emulsify when contact with water. Does it wash off grime and makeup? Yes! Does it improve my skin texture, since it is said for rough skin? Too early to say, but I do feel my skin much much smoother than before, but may not be the direct cause from Celdie (can be also other skincare items?)

I have finished the Acmedica toner! The bottle is quite small, therefore it only lasts me about 1 month (I uses toner 3 times a day). I find this toner nothing special. I have no extra zits nor less zits (still one/two during TOTM) and oil is still that much on my face. Lot's of people depend on good toner, but I treat toner as a lotion to remove any last trace of cleanser and makeup on my face before my serum and moisturiser step. But I do also believe, a good toner will make the serum/moisturiser absorb better to the skin.

There was much hype on the Acmedica night powder, so I grabbed one as well. Usually my face gets abit oily around 11pm. I will wipe the excess oil with a cotton with toner lotion. Now, I'll have the addition of this before I go zzz. The white night powder have no smell to it, which is great! I don't like medicated smell as I don't think I can sleep well smelling that.

    Descriptions on the back:
Naris Up Acmedica acne care night powder helps to control shine, conceal pores and blemishes, and to give the skin a healthier look. Its sebum controlling formula prevents breakouts, containing vitamin C, the powder restores the damaged skin cells and leaves skin moistured.
Powder comes with a puff. The light natural colour helps give the skin a healthy look. Transparent colour strengthen the natural glow of beautifully skin.

What I don't understand is, how is it supposed to moisture the skin when it is in powder form? Anyway, I do feel better knowing my face is treated even when I am sleeping. When I wake up in the morning, my face is still oily but definitely not so much than before!

I am quite happy with these batch of hauls, as it did not give me any breakout! If any of you have tried these, let me know if you have made a review on them as I like to know how you feel about them and was it good for you? ^^

  3. Kiehl's is so weird!

    Jan 12, 2010

This is not a complain, just something interesting that I found out! From my earlier posts about my cleansing skincare regime here, I was using Kanebo Freshel Toner and Moisturiser.

    1. Kiehl's Blue Toner + Kanebo Freshel Milk Moisturiser

I used the Kiehl's Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion with my Kanebo Freshel White C Lotion, and I got a weird reaction! Not on my face, thank god (no redness or breakouts). After using the toner with the cotton facial pads, the moisturiser turns white beads on my face skin! That is so bizarre, freak me out, I thought my milk moisturiser had gone off/bad/pass expiry >.< I then washed off my face and used L'occitane Ultra Comfort Cottan Moisturiser. No reaction. I tried this for 3 days and everytime it has white beads between the Kiehls Blue Toner + Kanebo Freshel Moisturiser, must be a chemical reaction. Something in the Kiehl's toner that don't go well with the Freshel moisturiser.

    2. Kanebo Freshel Toner + Kiehl's Moisturiser

Few weeks ago, I used Kanebo Freshel Toner with my Kiehl's Sodium PCA oil-free Moisturiser, and again there is a weird reaction! This time no white beads, but the cream moisturiser stay shiny and do not absorb into my face skin. It stay shiny and runny and sticky! And I thought my cream moisturiser is too rich >.< I then washed off my face and used the Shu Uemura White Recovery EX Whitening Emulsion toner. Nothing happen. Did this for 3 days and still the Kiehl's don't seem to absorb to my skin if I were to use the Freshel toner.

Conclusion, not all products work together well. Luckily there wasn't any strong reaction on my skin but just external reaction between those products and ain't harmful to me face.  Any of u gals got such experience like mine? Do share please!

  4. You know the song, but I guess I'm a little bit late for Christmas post, so it's gonna be for 2010 New Year! What a great 2009 Christmas isn't it, everyone? I've been busy shopping (yes, everyone does that!) and busy reading my followers posts as well! That's why the absentee of my Christmas post. I reckon I got to do this, before I get busy again reading all your 2010 New Year posts LoL ^^

So what have we all been all doing??? Hauling of course! This is just a mini haul I got and here it is!

Freshel Cleansing Oil: Huge bottle for A$10 bargain! I've no longer using ZA Cleansing oil and this work the same. My next bottle will be the famous Shu Uemura ^^
Freshel Toner: Also A$10 and it claims to clear dead cells/skins too. I just like it as it does make my moisturiser absorbs well into the skin.
Coffret Dor Silver Glitter Eyeliner: A$10, but it was not as I expected. The whole glitter is made up of glue, so once I got this on my eyelids, and once it is dry, it can be pull out in a single line! >.< So I was advise to dap it instead of drawing it in a single line around the eyelids (up & bottom) Will do a swatch for ya to see.
Lunasol Eye Base: A$20, this is the best eye primer! Previously I was using P&J but I think its abit tad too thick, and this Lunasol is purrfect! Amazingly the eyeshadows stay ON the eye for the whole day! I heard it comes in 2 shades, but I didn't see any other at the counter.
Kanebo Nail Polish: A$1, oh well it's not Anna Sui but who can resist the price hehe

Who would not want this??? This baby Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato lucly eyeshadow palette is my new year toy! It's so shimmer and glossy, gr8 for day & night. Splurge on it, gals, there is no wrong having this baby. No one have mention this in other blogs, but I just luv the BIG mirror! You know how palette comes in small sizes and some don't even have a mirror on it? Well this is the best mirror I have had on any of the palettes I came across. Save a spot in the bag! No reviews on the complimentary cleanser and toner yet as I have yet to use it. I've never try them, but I will soon!

I found it! This is the best invention for hair by far! Only RM15 (after hours and hours at Sg Wang) and the last one on the shelf too (one of those stalls, I don't think I can even remember going back there anymore, it's such a maze there!). It comes in 2 bands, and everyone can be a princess now! Come on, I want to look like those Koreans/Japanese newscaster on teli!

So how was your new years? I can see lots of posts is up and I apologise first if I'm not back in a week, as I have been reading your blogs (and still reading them ^^).

    2010 New Year's Resolutions here I declare:

    • Eat more healthily (less oil, less salt, more vege)

    • Sleep earlier, like before midnight (meaning read blogs earlier in the morning, not till wee hours at night >.<)

    • Feed Dory less, I don't want her to be a huge pug!
