What a fabulous year and I know more great times are coming~! In the last few months, like everyone else, I did not have the luxury to blog as often as I like because of work. Well, it is still a great thing, because work was great and rewarding.
I was in Singapore a few times and bought myself this lovely iPhone casing from Cath Kidston and a smurphy mushroom earphone stopper! Chrismassy isn't it?

And I know I will surprised y'all that I just recently tasted my first macaroons! These are from Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie, Singapore. I think I'll skip macaroons for awhile, too sweet for me!

My recently-engaged-sis cushyblushy sent me this and I love it! I'm so in love with it that I think I always look drunkenly-in-love with it lol

iPhone Photography Apps

Yes it is still a beauty related blogs, and beauty means camwhoring session too lol
My previous post on my change of phone, from Nokia to iPhone, I was expressing my growing love for iPhone, especially the apps and games. Here I would like to share some of the Photography apps that I used to create the pics. Now I am even more in love with iPhone ^^

This is one of my most used app, Fotolr PS. It is just awesome and amazing because it got really cool themes and filters, lots of editing tool (crop, resize, add text, etc), all in one! This don't have a camera function, so you choose a picture from your album to edit. You can also save the edited picture in a separate albums, so that it does not mix into your normal iPhone album. 5 star for Fotolr PS!

My second most used app, Pixlr-o-matic, is the best alternative to Instagram. Because Pixlr-o-matic do not use the internet to create; no more 'square' pictures like Instagram; can choose a different frame for different filters. Also, the app is available online for pc! 5 stars for Pixlr-o-matic!

MoreLomo has become my default camera for my iPhone. Because for a person who loves to camwhore myself, this app allows me to 'capture' a photo with ANY tap on the screen! It was so annoying to take a photo of myself with the iPhone because I can NEVER FIND the capture button hahaha Not anymore!

This is the best app for me! You want clearer and smoother complexion? Brighter surroundings? Easy peasy editing with just one click? What you say? No such app? Then you got to see my pictures!

moreBeaute2 is just so amazing! Take away the shadows, take away my oily shiny face! I don't need to learn photoshop. Just a few seconds, a new edited picture is created. My friends now wanted to use my phone to take their faces, so they can upload beautiful photos fast into their fb lol

Review: Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle Foundation

For 2 whole years, I have not got any proper foundation on my face, since the burst of bb creams craze. I have imperfection face skin (blemishes, acne scars, even one chicken pox scar near the nose bridge) and bb creams never give me flawless face, because the coverage was never too good. I guess I just wanted something simple, easily purchased.

So, can Lancome Maqui Blanc Miracle Foundation do that for me?

My choice of shade: O-03

Yes, I tried it out while at home, doing some chores.
Coverage is buildable (just a tiny amount will do)
Oiliness of my face crept out after 4hrs
Very little foundation got onto the blot paper, compare to bb creams (big plus!)
Hide lines on forehead

With loose powder on, it is quite matte.

With brighter lights, it gives me better coverage on the forehead, compare to bb creams.

Yes it is a staple bottle for everyday foundation :)

Review: Loreal Curl Impact Collagene Mascara

Loreal Curl Impact Collagene, Curl-Fixing Volume Mascara. Quite a mouthful name, but the word I was caught at is "collagene". In a mascara? Have to do wonders to my lashes right?

Packaging: Bold gold tube. Look expensive, doesn't it?

Brush: Shape of the letter 'S'. Bristles are very compacted together.

Smell: This is abit tricky. It has a quite strong clean hospital smell. It's not bad or fouling, perhaps that's the "collagen" smell. But it is strong, because I get a whiff of it everytime I use it on my mascara. Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad smell, but it is there.

Curl & Length: It works! But I don't know why I am not wow by the result. I got a feeling many mascara can do this too.

Volume: At least it doesn't clump up the lashes. Nope, not much volumising there. Well, that can only be fix by fiber mascara, fake lashes or lash growth serum ^^

Strength: I think this is a strong mascara. When I opened my eyes, it can create an eyelid fold above it, and hold it there!

Removing it was a breeze, it kinda melts away with my cleansing oil or gel cleanser.
Overall, I give it 3/5 kisses. And I still very love Loreal Paris :)

From Nokia to iPhone

I was a Nokia mobile fan because:

Search function is absolutely awesome!
Camera high resolution
Able to hang cute dolls & charms on the mobile
Offline Nokia map
Favorite songs can be ringtone
Will not 'accidentally' switch to data usage from the carrier
~~Flashy Themes~~ (uses too much of the battery)

But now I am slowly but surely, converted to an iPhone mobile fan because:

Gazillion apps, and the free ones are super incredible, too
Apps Apps Apps
Games Games Games
Thousand and one way to connect with family & friends

The recent festive holidays (Hari Raya & Merdeka) has given me the perfect opportunity to play around with my oldie but reliable iPhone 3G and 3GS. This is some of the the things I learned:

One iTune account for multiple iPhones/iPads: This is awesome, because apps that was purchase once, can be in multiple devices. Savings!
One account but different setting for each phone are allowable. So my iPhone can have my choice of apps (mostly photography apps and addictive games), hubby iPhone can have his choice of apps (zombie games, IGN, etc). Same goes for selective contacts, songs and photos to sync.
iTunes seem inflexible at first try, but thanks to the many fans out there with their website tips, now it seems like an intelligent program lol
Ugh, the hundreds of apps I have to download and 'install', before deciding the best app. This is really annoying, because I wish I can try out the app live on iTunes or any other web out there before installing it on my device.
Elle best notes app 'all-in Notes Lite' because it's free, no ads, unlimited notes, colourful, simple, no login!
Elle current twitter app 'Echofon'
Elle current magazine reader app 'Zinio' because I've been a huge fan of it since ages ago.
Elle current TV app 'TVULite' If you have anything better, please let me know, because this is mostly NOT in English channels.
Elle favourite games: Fieldrunners, CartoonWars, Cubes, Scramble, Word Warp, InfectThemAll, GameBox 40-in-1 (most worth it app I bought!), ZombieSmash (better with iPad), Minigore (omg, 2 players WLAN!!!)
Screen capture without any apps: Press 'home' and 'sleep' button at the same time for 1 second.

Careful with Instagram, as it requires internet connection to create the pictures. So if there are no free WiFi, you will be charge for data usage from your phone carrier, unless you have a data plan then it is no worries to you.

I'll definitely update a few more things about my iPhone in the future. But this is still a beauty-makeup-skincare related blog lol

Review: Maybelline HyperSharp Liner

I'm a huge fan of Maybelline when it comes to eyeliner solutions. I have: EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner Pot, HyperDiamonds Liquid Liner, and now their latest HyperSharp Ultra-Fine Liquid Liner!

The Maybelline HyperSharp Liquid Liner is new in 2011.

Above: If you want a sharp point, this is really sharp at 0.05mm (how fine is that!).

Above: When I want it black, it is definitely a solid black.

Let's see how fine this can be on moi!

Above: I drew a lil bit thicker and also the bottom.

Why I love it:

Sharp point at 0.05mm
Solid strikingly bold black
Consistent flow from the tip
Stayed for 8 hours (with primer)

Amante Spa Pedicure

My first time pedicure experience took place recently, at the posh "Amante nail spa & body care". Tammy has done it again, beautifully, by inviting a few bloggers to try out the populat Nailtek Spa Pedicure worth RM95 at Amante Mont Kiara, Solaris, branch. Is it just a simple spa pedicure? No, it was also a party to celebrate Tammy's blog anniversary!

Now, let's have a quick glance at my before toes:

Above: Urgh, dry patch and uneven nails. Very neglected toes.

Above: The spa pedicure started off with soaking my poor feet with some lovely blue salt. This process is to soften the cuticle and skin around the feet. Shucks, my tan line is so obvious here >.<

Above: Then the scrubbing of dead skin, follow by a mask for the feet! I've never before knew my feet requires masking! Glorious pampering.

Above: My nail colour is sponsored by Essie by "My Nail Solution". I have chosen Tangerine, isn't it a lovely orange squash summer colour!

This Spa Pedicure has given me lots of thinking, that I should never neglect taking care of my feet. Although our feet is far from visible to everyone, but knowing I have baby smooth sole and nice toe nails, boost my mood for the day!
Essie is really chip-resistant! It's been nearly 2 weeks, but the colour stays! Amazing!

Fav Neutrals in early 2011

Everyone have their favourites neutral/brown palettes. The early part of this year 2011, I am in love with these: Stila Marrakesh Eyeshadow Quad and Canmake Cheek Gradation. These two are so popular in the world, that I don't reckon need anymore introduction.

Beautiful colours, don't you think? Eek, nearly pan out the spakly pink! It's a great highlighter.

I'm not really sure if I used the blusher on the right height of my cheek. Do you think it was abit low on the cheek?

I've been using a Nokia phone for the last 5 years.
I can't wear high heels for more than 3 hours.

DIY: How to wash leather handbag

I have a lovely beige Samantha Thavasa bag, gifted to me by my lovely cousin, from one of her Japan trip. Unfortunately, with light colour bags, they get dirty easily >.< I have went through google, to get tips on how to wash finished leather handbags. Of course everyone said it is best to let the professionals to handle it, but why the hassle and the cost? So I say, let's try DIY!

I use some soapy water and prepare a toothbrush that I ain't gonna use anymore.

Above: I started washing the base first, as I am not sure of the reaction. Whitle brushing genthly up and down the leather, I seem to see clear surface!

Above: I wipe the wet area with paper towels, gently absorbing the soap away from the leather. TADAH! It reveals it's original leather surface! At this point, I am already jumping around the room, making WAH WAH sounds lol

What soapy water I used? Melaleuca MelaMagic, given to try by my SO's Aunt. She was saying how fantastic this organic and natural multi-cleaner can perform, even on the most stubborn grimes and harmless on skin contact. As you all may know, I was suffering the worst ezcema last month on my hands, so I am abit tad cautious when it comes to using cleaning detergent. Melaleuca products are of natural ingredients, no preservatives, no irritant elements. Sounds good to me. I'm also using Melaleuca Lemon Brite for dish washing. Not as foamy as I would like; not that economy too, as I tend to use alot to try make more foam hahaha.

Anyway, I am just estatic that I got this beautiful bag clean, and go out with it!

What do you use to clean your leather bags/shoes/clothes? Share with me, as I want to learn other alternatives.

What is the best thing that you have done for your friends or what your friends have done for you? When I was young, I would always saved up all my pocket money for my birthday party with my friends. I felt bad asking my parents to do all the work and only me get to enjoy it, so I'll take out my CNY 'angpow' and have a great time at Swensen ice cream (not sure if this brand is still around), Movies session at those old cinema buildings (it cost only a few dollars last time), and who would have not got a party at KFC or McDonalds before? Hahaha

Since coming back to Malaysia to expand my business, I have met a wonderful gal pal, who is ever so enthusiastic about blogging and shopping and her never-ending-energy is truly inspiring. This is none other than Tammy from Plus Size Kitten!
I truly learn the word 'gift' from Tammy. Her generousity is totally out of this world! And her blog is turning 3 years old in June and she will be throwing a Pedicure Party for 6 of her friends~ wee fun~

Gray eyes for gay (happy) days

I'm in love with this Ballerina Gray from MagicColour Lens. I can't say why, eventhough it does gives a freakish zombie eyes lol but yet I feel mysterious and vampirish. Probably it is all in my mind hahaha

OK, I did a very wacky move on this gray contact lens. I tried on the other way around. It is so soft that I felt very comfortable wearing it (this is amazing, because not all contact lens are confortable when you wear it reverse). And how does the gray turn out?

Purplelicious eyes

In my previous post, you read my love for purple colour. Here are some FOTDS of me wearing the Moonlight Violet from MagicColour Lens.

With colour contact lens, I tend to have light makeup on the eyes, just a quick eyeliner with a zest of wing ^^

Overall, I am really happy with this. It is huge (16mm) so even though I have small eyes with no double eyelids, I think it is just nice for my eyes. It don't look freakish on me and I have gotten many nice compliments from friends, saying I look sweet :)

Do you use 16mm colour contact lens? Let me know as I want to see it!

EOTD: Purple with MAC

My belated pressies from sis ^^ Canmake Melty Nude Lip 04 and MAC Evil Queen Vile Violet eyeshadow.

The eyeshadow is super matte, and some reviews have said it is too chalky to get it on brush. Agreed. I still have trouble picking it up from my elf eyeshadow brush. Although it appears dark on the finger when swatch, but I can't seem to transfer it well onto my eyes (you can see the swatch don't come out much on the skin). I tried to wet my brush with some saline lotion, it turns eeky on the skin. Ain't trying that anymore. Any suggestion?

So, I need some "help" from Shu Uemura Fluorescent palette. I'll use the purple glitter eyeliner over the eyelids, as a base. Then packed heavily on top with MAC Vile Violet.

Well, of course with other 'assistance' from the above tools to make me look pretty ^^ Daiso Blush (review), Rimmer Mascara (review) also with Dejavu Fiberwig and Averine Mineral loose powder (I can't seem to finish this~)

I love purple. Do you love purple? If you do, we are buddies lol Confession, my first few attempts with purple eyeshadows resulted with comments from friends "what's wrong with your eye?" and "why is your eyes swollen?" Not happy days >.< But I don't give up, I learn from gurus all over the world on their eotds and tutorials. I'm more of a blog stalker than a blog writer (after 5 days of not online, I get 1000+ new posts to read on my reader ^^). So if you think I have improved from those comments, let me know!

Downs & Ups of April 2011

What a month, just want to write this down so that I can re-read what happened in my life, if I ever have memory loss later in life hehe

BAD - urgh

Eczema attack - When I was young I had a very bad case of atopic dermatitis eczema on my feet. I missed out alot of sports activities during my primary schools days, but I made up with good chess skills, board games, developed love for computer games. Then when my menstrual came, miraculously the eczema were totally gone, as it it did not exist! So swimming, cycling, badminton was only picked up in my late teen. Now at 31 years old, for the last week, it was kinda a mini hellish week as I had pompholynx (dyshidrotic eczema on my hands). It never happened before and the doctor can't determine my trigger point. Fortunately, the dermatitis specialist is a great one and my hands are back to normal (I apologised for no pictures of my hands as it is a gross picture of them). I think I am going to write a heartfelt thank you note to my doc.
I accidentally deleted all my 2011 photos in my computer!!! 2GB of photos ARGHHHHH!!! I know it is not the end of the world, but it does felt abit like that sob sob >.< How do you cheer yourself up if this happened?
My previous post I mentioned that I was exercising more rigorously, but my weight was unchanged (still 65kg). I started a very simple rule on my diet, 'NO SUGAR' after 6pm. So I am now kinda suffering from cravings for Coke, cakes, etc.
Our xbox is down, grrr I can's play Halo Reach arghhh

EOTD Lunasol 01 Coral Palette

I got this many months back, but did not had the chance to share them. Slacking~ Apologies hehe

This is one of my favourite palette, Lunasol Sheer Contrast Eyes Palette model 01 Coral Coral, you can see the whole range here. If you must know one thing about Lunasol eyeshadows, know this from me, they are super pigmented and glossy! I use the word 'glossy' although it is not a gel type, but their shimmer are the finest most sparkly that I have come across for any eyeshadows. You want highlights? Try Lunasol.

A. Pink B. Light Brown C. Dark Brown D. Pearl

I could use this everyday, but I'll be heartbroken if I pan it out lol It's very soft colours, except for the dark brown so it is buidable for a smokey eyes as well. Well, I can't just create a face with this palette alone, so here are the other tools:

The star product is the Lunasol Sheer Contrast Eyes Palette model 01 Coral Coral of course. I also use Kanebo T'estimo Brow Make Compact BR-35 (waxy) & Star Dazzling Liner (gel), Shu Uemura Pro Concealer (cream) & Eyelash Curler, Rimmel Great Curl Mascara, Daiso Cheek Blush.

Yup, bronzing and contouring does make a lot of difference to our skin colour. Although I wish I am much fairer, but I also like a healthy glow on myself.

Unbelievable Gr8 Daiso Cheek Blush

A lot of bloggers have been giving good reviews on Daiso beauty products range. Especially the black masks for black heads. I have yet to pick that one up yet. In fact, let me tell you the truth, I don't get to spend many minutes in Daiso, because I can actually spend hours there! SO would just pull me along, every time he sees a Daiso (even before I see it, hoping that I will miss it). I manage to pop in this time, because I dropped him at the hair salon to get his haircut.

Lucky for me, I found this lovely pink cheek blush at RM5! I don't like flat brush, so that brush is gonna go 'away' hehe It's so cute, I pop it into my makeup pouch in my handbag now. It is quite pigmented, as you can see just a touch and my kabuki brush picks it up.

I really like this! I'm into pink blushes now, since sis let me tried a pink Canmake Cream blush a few weeks ago, and I'm hook on pink blush!

I sweep them across my cheeks, nearly all the way to my ears. Kinda give me a flush look hehe Daiso Cheek Blush also comes in coral and tan colours.

Review: Mario Badescu | Drying Cream

My previous post might portray such flawless skin but big no, I am far from it. Makeup do wonders, there are no ugly gals, no lazy gals, only the right motivation I reckon lol side question: what's your motivation to look good? ^^

My recent trip to Singapore Sephora at ION back February, I bought the most expensive spot treatment for myself! SGD50 for this! I have never in my life spent that much on a pimple cream but I console myself that I really need it. When the TOTM is here, I usually have a few small zits here and there, and they are easily dried up by Oxy, Clinique, Vichy or some toner which contain alcohol. But few months ago, I'll occasionally have this mega bit cyst pimple! Arghh it is red, painful, and take a long while to go away sob sob. So I was on a hunt for a good drying agent for these annoyance grrrr

Drying Cream | Acne Products - Mario Badescu Skin Care

(it's actually less tan in colour, more like white beige)

Packaging: Not that good, because I will have to use cotton bud to pick it up so it is not that hygienic, but then again, it is a generous tub! I read reviews that it can last 12 months!
Texture: Thick cream
Smell: Hmm this is kinda hard to describe. It's herbal, clean, not too pungent
Reminded me of Nixoderm!!!

Bah! Whenever I get these zits, my mum would nag me "Did you put on some Nixoderm? Do it now." Do you gals know of this brand? It's been around for ages like 30 years? I actually totally forgot about this brand till I bought Mario Badescu Drying Cream, because the smell suddenly struck me! ps: Nixoderm is only a fraction cost, around RM5?

Does it work?

Reviews by others said it only takes a day for them, and the pimple will be gone by morning. But it does not seems to be the case for me! Don't get me wrong, it does make the pimple go away but like 3 weeks for me?!?! Okay, maybe because it is a mega one, like I said lol But the pimple might subside, but I felt a tiny bump still there and discolour on the spot. You be my judge:

I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I'll update few more months later about my feelings on this. If any of you have used this, please share with me your experience in using Mario Badescu Drying Cream.

Gym in the house

My weight in 2011 = 65kg
My weight in 2001 = 55kg
In 10 years, I have gained 10 kg?!?! That's like 1kg/year. I am NOT happy. I don't really care about the weight, but probably about the fitness and stamina. I want a lower heart rate when I run, more control breathing when I puff, and no jelly arms! I used to 'play' my grandma's jelly arms when I was really young ;p
SO had planned a in-house "gym" session for me this week. It is freaking tough and tiring and painful and uncomfortable. He said, "Being fit and healthy is not like being in a spa." He always have an answer to all my complaints grrr My regime is only 30 minutes daily for the 1st week and will go up to 60 minutes alternate days on 2nd week onward. I quickly asked, "Then when do I stop doing these sh*t?" Again he come back with an answer that sound good to him, but definitely not good for me, "No stop, till your last breath" grrr

I am never that super active while growing up; not like the champ above lol My type of exercise when I was young: ride alot on bmx bicycles (I prefer these bikes, because I stand on them rather than sit AND can go off road and jumping over speed bumps!); play some basketball after school; tried to play volleyball after got hooked on the old Japanese tv series but I am not good at it; tried to play tennis but I always run after the ball more than hitting them; played badminton and love torturing my sisters for running up and down the courts on my long and short hits; tried swimming but can't get grasp freestyle, so I'm still stuck on 'frog' style; well that's about it.
My exercise plan:
1. Up and Down the stairs (8 to 10 times) - this is HARDCORE, so painful
2. Lift up a pail of water up to the chest level, straight back, wide stand (8 times/set, do 4 sets)
3. Push up, table level (8 times/set, do 4 sets)
4. Sit up (8 times/set, do 4 sets) - this is also HARDCORE for me
5. Jumping, Kicking, Punching, Stabbing, it's like a self defence class lol
By 30 minutes, I am drench with sweat and have very very painful thighs. SO wants me to upgrade next week, with a backpack running up the stairs >.<
I am not going to look at the scale until end of next week. Wish me luck that I survive this week.

I think I really like my eyes with dark black heavy eyeliners, kinda bigger and widen my eyes, gives the illusion of double eyelids ^^ Although I am quite tan to suit coral blushers, but I secretly wish I am fair enough to pull off pink blushers ^^ I prefer bushier eyebrows, but I don't have the skill to draw on them more. I love my lips because they are full and plump and don't chapped, but I am never keen to put on nice lippy colours as I smoke and it is annoying to have lipstick on the stick >.<

Random question that asked Elle "Why did you started beauty blogging and will you stop?"

Answer:

I have always wanted to start a diary-of-some-sort, but always feel ridiculous to write things down without pictures to describe it back to me. And it was a hassle to go to the photo shop and have my pictures developed and attached it in a physical book. By then, I would have stopped (yes lazy moi). So online blogging to me is my diary, my time-capsule, where I can read back what has been happening in my life, year after year, especially how my looks will change over the months and years, the trends that I was following and will be following, it just encapsulate what is going on in my life. Will I stop blogging, I do hope I will never stop. I want to be at 70 years old, and post a picture of myself at that time, next to a picture of myself at 30 years old :) That is so super coool! Would I mind if my grandchildren get to read this, a big no, they will have a cool grandma! Well, just my opinions, this may changed too in the future, but right now, I enjoy blogging :)

Review: KKcenterHK ES A108 eyelashes

In this post, I'll like to review another lashes by KKcenterHK lashes that was sent to me few weeks ago. You can check out my previous review on ES A10 lashes here.

Allow me to introduce to you ES A108. This is a beautiful slant/curve dense lashes. It reminds me of the recent movie "Black Swan" by Oscar Winner, Natalie Portman. How so? Because the word just sprung up into my mind when I attached it on moi :)

Initially, I thought they might be too dramatic for a day wear lashes, because it is so dense, gives the illusion of razor sharp lashes, very alluring looking as well. From view below, it looks like claws coming out from my eyes, so cool!

I think these ES A108 gives me bedroom dreamy eyes. It kinda elongated my eyes, giving an impression of pulling my eyes even wider.

So, wore them out for a 'test drive' again! I love it, another winner for fake eyelashes. Just a note, they are not as soft as ES A10, therefore it is easier to attached them but just need abit tad more glue for the side/corner, because it may spring loose. Other than that, it is fantastic!

Lots of reviewers had said that KKcenterHK did not provide eyelash glue in the box. I did not think this as a big deal factor, because I prefer my own glue, which is Koji Makeup Eyelash Fix clear glue, which I got mine on Sasa online. Glue or no glue, these lashes are great!

Here is the sweet package that I received. She had individually wrapped them with bubble wraps, how thoughtful!

1. Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser for sensitive skin

Milky texture and it absorbs pretty quickly into the skin. No fragrance, no lingering stickyness on hands nor on face. I've always like skincare for sensitive skin, because they have lesser harming ingredients, and more natural soothing ingredients. Pro: No breakout from using it. Con: My face oiliness is still uncontrollable >.<

2. Laneige Professional Makeup Remover Multi Cleanser

When squeezed out, it feels milky on my palm. It has a very very light pink tint colour and have no fragrance smell at all. Then when I massage it into my face (with makeup on), I can feel really fine tiny pin size grain on my palms. Really consider a multi cleanser as it also exfoliates! I think this can be over drying for some, but I felt really clean and matte after washing (maybe because I am oily skin?). Will I purchase the full size? Hmm it's about 180ml for RM100 here, and I usually prefer a foam cleanser, so I'll have to think about it.

3. NYX Body Glitter Gel - Sunshine

I love this glitter gel! The glitters are tiny gold dust-like, no fragrance, no greasyness, and it said it can go on hair! The pump is convenient, I really wish I can get this in Malaysia.

4. Australis Nail Colour -Pink Pluto

This is a generous big bottle of nail colour (hopes it don't dry too quickly!). I would describe the colour as light pink pearly champagne. The brush is long (which is a plus, because I like brushes to touch the bottom of the bottle) and it's smooth. The sheen is pretty great, under white light, my nails just shine white lol I really miss this brand, I used to love Australis eyeshadows before I was introduced to Japanese brands. Anyhoo, I put on some Anna Sui nail stickers, now isn't that girly? ^^

Review: KKcenterHK ES A10 eyelashes

I think by now, everyone is familiar with KKcenterHK for their beautiful fake eyelashes and wigs.

I have received 5 types of lashes, and today I am going to review ES A10.

Features:

Not clear bands
Crisscross lashes, good for density
Shorter lash on inner eyes, longer lash on outer eyes
Very soft, very natural, but may be hard to stick on eyelids

As you can see, it has a curve length, and this is super nice because it does really give a very natural look on the eyelashes. I reckon this model ES A10 is aim to look very natural, that is why is is super soft. That can be good, but it is quite difficult for a not-so-expert-not-everday-user person like moi, to stick it on my eyelids (took me about 15mins on each eye hehe).

This is a very preliminary look. No makeup. I just stick it on to get a feel how it looks like. Although I did say it is very soft lashes, but it still have the strength to lift some skin, to create a double eyelid for me! I usually go for hard lashes, because I want to create the double eyelids, but now I don't need to!

Side look. I really like it. I put a pink circle on my left eye, to differentiate the length of lashes.

Took the lashes for a 'test drive' lol Overall, I really love them. There are quite unique and before this, I was always skeptical about soft lashes, but now, not anymore! So, I'll be doing more reviews on the other lashes that I have gotten soon, at the mean time, look smashingly beautiful gals!

Rimmel Mascara, Maybelline Eyeliner, TOTD

I had pan out my Maybelline Volume mascara (yellow tube - finally! it last quite many months) and Bourjois Clubbing Ultra Black liquid liner (love this truly!). So when I went to Singapore for CNY, I bought these to try out:

Rimmel Great Curl Volume Mascara, I have not seen the packaging, with Japanese wordings. Although I am not too liking the brush shape, because I think I like comb shape brush hehe

Maybelline Hyper Diamonds liquid liner, I don't think it is as black as Bourjois but still do the job to give glitters :)

I don't really have long or lush lashes hehe

That's face of the day FOTD above. I have also recently chomped off my long unhealthy hair. It is so easy to manage now, but I might return to the salon to thin it abit as I think it's still too much volume.

That's also the top of the day TOTD above. I bought this lovely top in Singapore too. It's one of the few tops that I can buy, because I seriously think Singaporeans are so very thin!

My thoughts of Rimmel Great Curl Volume Mascara: Like all brand new mascara, it is wet lol This is not waterproof, but it is not a problem for me, I like it that it is easy to wash off.

My thoughts of Maybelline Hyper Diamonds liquid liner: Not as black as it should be, more grayish silvery, but easy to draw on the eyes.

ps: I think I got both of this for like SGD15 each. I really want to try out Marjolica mascaras but have yet to have the heart to buy them, because mascaras always dried out and I like to buy a few mascaras rather than just ONE brand. Just my 2 cents ^^

DIY and Elle's Bag 2011

Before I go into what's in my bag, I'll like to share some DIY. My current handbag is this beautiful baby blue Longchamp, gift from my beautiful sis, on her trip to Europe last year end.

Most handbags have soft bottoms, and that's really annoying, isn't it? The bags will be droopy when we put our stuffs in it, and that is not so good! Also, our stuffs will be all over and I don't really like to put my bag on a table, not knowing if it is clean, because i really don't want to stain the bag!

So this is what I do:

Prepare:

1. Hard card board, eg electrical good boxes

2. A pair of scissors

3. Colourful tapes, I got this from Daiso, you can also use wrapping paper of your choice, but I wanted waterproof and longer lasting bottom

I cut the size of the bag bottom, then just wrapped the tape all over it. Tadah!

Makeup pouch (pink rilakuma bear!), wallet, sunnies, mobile, extra hairbands, tissue, sequin bag (for pads/liners, not so obvious hehe), stationery (notepads, pens, business cards), Dentyne strawberry gum (my favs!)

Face: Muji (shimmer blush), Bare Minerals (mini kabuki brush), Dior (compact powder with spf) and face blotter (can't live without it!)

From my previous post, I bought a fake hair fringe clip on that I am just super excited to show more pics of what I do with it. Oh yeah, I still have no idea how to store this yet, it is just lying on my vanity desk =.= so any idea about how to store hair clips nicely, would be deeply appreciated!

Ok this might sound 'dangerous' as I took this in the car, while I stopped at red lights lol yeah I was bored, and you have no freaking idea how long some of the red lights in KL roads.

Any huge difference?

So I was playing with falsies and blushers, I created a soft look with not too smokey eyes, swept my original bangs back and attached the fake bangs on the front, put on a nice head band from diva, and voila!

I really like playing with this hair clip. I can't help but want to keep shaking my head and sing the famous korean pop song "I want..nobody nobody but you.." clap clap

Do you think I look 30 (coming 31 in April 2011 >.<) Age is really a number isn't it? I'm not so sure. I don't know if I'll hate birthdays later in life (hopefully not! coz i love pressies!) and will I still go googoogaga over japanese magazines when I hit 40s and 50s???

Happy CNY 2011 !!!

Thanks for all ya console words in my previous post! OK, it's a new year and it should start with good moments and happy times! So forget the past that is nasty and remember the great memories that I had!

Pre CNY haulage, just tiny items and some gifts.

This is my fav top atm, gift by my MIL, top from MNG.

Got this cute-sy wire floral headband in JB few weeks back for RM5! I really like it, coz it is not too big and not too tiny of a bow, and I can adjust where I want the bow to be! Earrings: big hoops gift from sis.

Corine de Farme hair treatment conditioner, mango flavour! This smells wonderfully nice and I got it on a sale at SASA for about RM25!

Pro: Thick cream for a treatment conditioner which I like because it will stay on the hair and not drip down, big tub probably can last for a few months, smells fruitilicious, soften hair for a few days, so it is best for long term use

Con: In a tub because when I scoop it up it gets in the nails

My dad got me a charcoal soap (which I will review next post) so I got this cute soap bowl at Daiso for RM5!

It has a smiley pink face, so I'll be happy to use it hehe

Usage: Soap on top, remove water at the bottom bowl.

I have great sisters and also a SIL who knows my obsession with bows! They got these for me in their recent HK trip. These are mesh metal that really match with my Tiffany ring!

Stellarvixen got me this crystal flower earring and coincidently it matches one of my fav necklace! Even the soft lilac colours are a match!

There you go. Hows your preparation for the CNY coming along? Are you celebrating it in big style? In Australia, it is not a national public holiday. I only know of the restaurant Shangri-la in Forest Hill, Melbourne, where I can get 'yee-sang'.

I am really excited to spend this year CNY here in Malaysia, I can get my 'yee-sang' every alternate day for 15 days lol put up decorations around the house, going to Singapore and ransack Sephora, hangout with my dear sis cushycottage!

Rant Courts, Praise Ikea

Not about beauty today.

I recently moved home. I need to get furnitures (in the shortest possible time) as my in-laws want to come and stay with us for awhile. I am not fussy over furnitures because I am a person who is quite practical and totally accept that furnitures do not last forever and we will change them in the new future to my new taste and needs. Of course some friends have suggested some really expensive designer furnitures (RM7,000 for a one-piece sofa?!?!) Anyway, my MIL suggested Courts, big f**king mistake.

Wallet wise, this is where you can fill up the entire house with less than RM10,000 (3 bedrooms, 1 hall, 1 dining area, 1 kitchen). Actually, there are also cheaper places like along OUG, opposite Pearl Point, randoms furniture shops that you can see along main highways.

In 2 weeks, Courts sent only partial items to what I paid (we made full payment). The most important thing did not come in first, which is the BEDS! Where do they expect us to sleep??? Call it poor planning on our side, too, my in-laws came. Out of the 3 beds, only 1 came, so we offered it my in-laws to sleep in. Me, SO, and SIL will take the floor! After numerous calls and complaints and visits back to Courts (in Puchong), most items came in another 2 weeks. Still 1 item is delayed, the sofa bed for my guest room.

They gave us a few freebies, trying to calm us down. Now I have 100+ pieces of plates + bowls which I think it is also a century old, because it ain't white anymore, but with many brown stains urgh The infamous excuse they kept using "It is not our problem, it is the supplier. They are out of stock. It is the delivery department problem." What a load of crap bullsh*t and totally no responsible of the after sales service. I guess they probably made their commissions already!

After 1 month plus, and the sofa bed is still missing, I had enough of it already. Went in to cancel it, and exchange it to electrical appliances that has stock there and there. They promised to give me a comforter for my bed the next time it is available. I totally did not give much hope about it.

I have heard from another friend, that they had to get the supplier's address (somewhere in Rawang) to pick up their own furnitures! If I were told to do that, I will definitely cancel my whole lot purchases.

Well, since I still do not have a sofa bed, we went to Ikea. Now, that's really heaven!

Got 2 sofa beds there, lots of plastic containers (17 pieces for RM15!), wall clock (RM3!), cutleries (6 pax for RM25!), famous Billy book shelf, desks, and many many more. There is an office roller chair for RM50 that has no stock, but everything else was in order. Shopping there was a breeze, no heartache, no lousy staffs, no unhappiness lol SO loves Ikea, he likes assembling the furnitures, probably like lego for big boys eh If you are wondering how we got it all back to the house, MIL has a 7-seater car and it takes 2 trips (Putra Heights <-> Curve). It is a nice and happy drive btw :)

Oh the horror did not stopped there. Just last week (gosh after 2 months!), Courts called in to let us know our freebie comforter is in shop and tell us to pick it up. We thought, why not. 3 days after that call, went to Courts (again..) and after waiting for like 20 minutes, the SA came out and said "No comforter. I put it there at the corner but most likely a staff stole it."

WTF? Do you know why they said that? So that the responsibility will not be on him! He thought he is so clever, he don't have to say SORRY! "There are 11 staffs in the branch, so we don't really know who took it. Also, you came so long later."

Elle: Shut up! Let me make myself clear. Do not make this like it is my FAULT. Should I feel sorry for you that you have a thief among your staffs? Should I be sympathise with you for your inefficiency and lack of brains? Should I say sorry that I came only 3 days later to pick up what you promised?

The next day, they called my MIL and very politely inform her that the comforter is really in the shop, ready to be pick up. No way I am going there again, so my aunt went to collect it and indeed it is there. Well, I told her she can keep it.

Do you know furnitures can be an investment? I saw that my hall sofa set (3+2+1 sitter) has went up the price at Courts. Previously was RM899, now RM1499. My dining set (6 sitter) has also went up in price, from RM999 to RM1699. I don't know what is going on with Courts. I may have saved alot of $$$ but to receive the stress that I have to deal with them??? I am not sure if it was justifiable. I hope it did not give me any wrinkles lol

Shortcut, even for hair and eyes

There are many tools out there to play with, and of course, I meant beauty tools! MIL bought me this lovely purply MNG top, with a really cool chick on it. I just can't help staring at her! I just think the picture makes a cool avatar hehe

I got new glasses, back in October, so it gave me good excuse to be inspired by that top and look abit like her! Went shopping one Saturday at Curve, where they have this bazaar outdoor market walk, and bought a hair clip for RM18~ I was with my SIL and we both could not stop laughing and playing with it! SO thought it will be cool to clip on my armpit ew how creative of him huh ;p

This ain't magic ok! Not photo shoot either! I really clip on the hair bangs on me front! I tried to pick the best colour, I reckon this is a dark brown colour, which kinda match.

Now how do I look, with my hair down? Different? I know, the fake bangs are 'healthier' and 'shinier' than my real hair lol Got to do some treatment on it soon, before CNY!

Anyhoo, as I am not an expert on these wigs yet, I'll practise on it later.

Invited by special Tammy, to attend an optical shop event last week. Malaya Optical at Uptown, is truly a special place to shop for your lenses. Wide range of frames and crazy contact lenses! Someday, I might get one crazy contact lenses with the pink hearts on it!

I have been wanting to try on those big eyes contact lenses. Having small slit eyes like mine, I reckon I need this beauty tool to make my eyes more charming hehe

I bought about 8 boxes (every customer is limited to 12 boxes) because these babies are retail at RM90 but we special attendees get it for RM15 per box! I have here black and brown colours.

These are monthly wears and they only expire in 2012! I'm gonna have so much fun this CNY, new look lol I haven't been trying any colour lens because I have astigmatism and usually they do not cater for people blind as a bat like me. I have been a loyal user of B&L toric lenses for the past 12 years and since my power did not increase for the last 12 years too, I think I can be brave to try out other brands.

Hmm my sisters gave me feedbacks that I need MORE eyeliner and and put on fake lashies. I think so, too. What do you think? ^^

ps: How do I store this wig? I have no idea. It's just sitting on top of my toilet roll hahaha

Xmas NOTD & Origins Make A Difference Rejuvenating Moisturiser

Merry Christmas, everybody! Bright red and dark green tis the season! So I did my nails with bright red chillie colour and some leafy flower stickers hehe

Yup I'm holding a Givenchy lipgloss, loving it at the moment because it shimmers and taste soooo good lol

Blogging in Malaysia this 2010 year has been a great eye opener. Lots of active bloggers around town and it is great to share all those enthusiasm on skincare and makeup. My SO thought I was the weird one, because of the constant online reading about beauty blogs, but apparently now he realise I am NORMAL lol

Last week, I was invited to be one of the panel to test out an amazing new product by Origins. It is all very hush hush, so I can't really say much about this new product yet, but all will be reveal in due time, as it will be launch world wide in February/March 2011! So I got to keep mumps about this, as I've signed a kinda 'silence' contract.

Anyway, I want to share a cute story before I go into reviewing Origins Skin Rejuvenating Moisturiser.

My SO was kinda feeling concern for me when I told him I was going to a skincare workshop at MidValley on a Saturday afternoon. He felt sometimes things are not that 'too good to be true' and might be something dodgy (we aussies love this word, don't we, to describe something fishy hehe).

SO : Did you pay any money for the workshop?
Elle : Nope, it's an invite, ok.
SO : Your sis going? Anyone I've met going?
Elle : Not that I know of, coz the attendance were not made public to me.
SO : Why is it in this office building in MidValley and not those public cosmetic counters?
Elle : I don't know either.

Usually, stellarvixen would go with me on these kind of events or tammy@miu would meet up there with me. I was curious too, why wasn't they going? Anyhoo, SO accompanied me all the way up to the workshop doorstep, and only willing to leave the floor when he saw it's the real thingy. Actually, I don't like it when he comes along with me to the malls, because he get bored waiting for me and that made me feel really really guilty arghhh I don't like to make him wait and I don't like to be rush >.<

So that's the cute story ^^ kind of irrelevant lol

Origins are actually a sub company of Estee Lauder (I didn't know that, too). Of course, they are also other brands under their belt.

The setting was really nice and posh. Good food, good people, I was all smiles!

The area was decorated really nice, with white cloth over the table and chairs, abit like a wedding reception. Every sitting has our names and folders with info on this new product. Now I know why I was asked to be a panel of testers. I heard from other bloggers that present, was because we are above 30 years old! So the others were underage LOL Age is just a number, I don't really care. In fact, I am extremely glad and happy that I went to meet up with Origins team, as I really learn alot of things from them, about preventing aging and knowledge of our skin.

Well, we are to use this new product together with our suited moisturiser for 4 weeks. Therefore, I am here to review only on Origins Make A Difference Skin Rejuvenating Moisturiser.

This is for combination/oily skin, and that's me. For 50ml, this bottle looks super generous. I reckon it is price RM170, but I am not too sure. Moisturiser are abit pricey but definitely less expensive than a serum.

Texture: Quite light, I can't be greedy slapping these on my face. Just a tiny amount, it easily spread all over my face.
Fragrance: Undetectable. So it's good.
Absorbency: Not that instant.

Like: Very generous amount for a 50ml bottle, I reckon can last me 2 months! No fragrance and it is all organic ^^

Don't like: Packaging, because I like pumps moisturiser because it is more sanitise to use. I need to get a spatula to scoop this, as I don't trust my hands to be completely clean. But then bottles like this, means no wastage.

I feel my face is more oily after using this for 4 days. At night, after putting it on around 8pm, my face is an oil pan by 11pm. Hmm I do hope it does the job of hydration by the end of the week. I am not giving this up!

Halloween with Cleo November

I wanted to do this post long ago, but did not have the time because of moving home, so this is a very very belated post.

It's black again lol So here again I played with black nails, bought this set at Sasa, it comes in a box, really cute (sorry threw the box already).

I have always used this Sally Hansen Maximum Growth as my nail base for as long as I remembered. I really like it because the brush is soft and it is long, so it touches the base of the bottle easily. No wastage! I hate nail polishes brush that is short and does not touch the base of the bottle and I really don't like tipping the bottle to the side to get the colours, because it is very inconvenient as my nails ain't dry yet >.< do you have that problem too?

I was kinda amazing to be able to dig out the hearts from the bottle eh?

The top coat is superb! Works like the famous Ettusais jelly harden top coat, but at a fraction of the cost. But this dries really really slow.

So, what about Halloween makeup?

No, I did not do this makeup hehe I just came back from a photoshoot with Cleo Malaysia Magazine, and the MU artist did this dramatic eyes for me! I really like it, because it kinda hides the fact that I am mono eyelid lol

On normal days, I won't be able to play with such dark colours because I think it is just too dramatic for an everyday look, but definitely for clubbing or partying! But I did not end up at a party, but in a magazine!

Tadah! It was really fun, playing with Giordano latest range of assessories, golden snake bracelets and necklace.

I was extremely paranoid before this came out, because I totally felt 'big' and 'fat' in the photoshoot. I really felt 'huge' and just crossed my fingers that it will turn out ok. Overall, I am soooo happy it really seems great, well not smoking hot, because that's way too optimistic lol but it was fun to be featured in a magazine. Have always wanted to appear in a mag, so I guess I can cross this job of my bucket list hahahah

Here I want to share with you L'occitane Milk Make-up Remover, my HG as this is my 10-ish bottle. Why it is so good? Gentle to the eyes, but definitely do the job of removing every trace of makeup!

It can really clean up squeky clean! As a contact lens user, I always have phobia that some makeup remover can get into my eyes and irritate them, but this L'occitane remover is really gentle to my eyes. I don't think there is any fragrance to it, and with just a tiny amount, both eyes can be wipe clean.

Moving home to Putra Heights

I have been very quiet lately on me blog, because I have been moving house! In all my life, I have stayed in numerous places and thought all those moving has been practiced well, so it should be easy peasy by now, but it is NOT >.<

Around 9 years ago, I migrated to Melbourne, Australia. And in Australia, I have moved my sanctuary about 6 places (from college dorms to rented rooms and progressively to real houses hehe). Since late last year, me & hubby decided to move back to Malaysia for awhile to expand our businesses. So I've stayed about 1 year plus at this Hartamas area and now I'm at Putra Heights!

I'm officially a suburbian now hehe

I just got back my internet at my new home, so I'm definitely back online more to read my favourites blogs around the world (my google reader showed that I have more than 1000+ post unreads!!!) and to blog some of my own posts. I just want to say a big hugs to my fellow followers and friends of me blog, for being patient with me and still around eventhough I have not been contributing much to the online world recently. RMK Autumn Brown Workshop

Recently I attended an RMK workshop. The venue was held at San Francisco Steakhouse upstair, very nice place, overlooking the beautiful gardens of KLCC.

RMK is relatively a very new brand for me, as I have not come across until this workshop. From what I gather, their popular item from their skincare range is the SkinTuner (a combination of toner and moisturiser). Lazy people like myself, I was super excited to learn more about RMK!

Every table at hands reach, are their whole range of skincare and makeup for us to play with. Even cleansers and makeup brushes are available. Their makeup items are mostly new, fresh from the box to play with. Finger foods are deliciously displayed and not to forget, their goodies bag (acclaimed worth RM200 goodies).

There was a Japanese makeup artist, and his english translator is around to walk us through the step by step in creating a flawless autumn look with RMK. He is ruggedly handsome ^^ but I wish he is taller and speak english lol. Anyhoo, these are their 4 Autumn Brown eyeshadow palettes (they have 6 actually, but only 4 at my table). Colours are nice but abit redundant because they are all shades of browns, all have the same white highligher and at RM150, I reckon there are other brands more worthy. This is a splurge buy, and the steal buy would be Kate brown eyeshadow palettes at RM50 or the Maybelline palettes at RM35.

Since the invention of BB creams, I hardly go through the ordeal of base/primer->sun screen->concealer->liquid foundation->loose powder, unless on special occasions like weddings and functions that I required my makeup to STAY all day and night, with little need and time to retouch up. So, it is kinda fun to play with so many items at that time, testing out shades of foundations, etc.

*But deep down in my heart, I was feeling abit icky because I had so many thingy on my skin! I actually can't wait to go home and wash my face squeaky clean!

Close up on the eye, it is a brown smokey eyes look. Can I redo these colours with other eyeshadow paletts? Yes.

So what's in the goody bag? Everyone got a full bottle of RMK SkinTuner, a tiny bottle of liquid foundation sample, a tiny tube of cleanser, a tube of sunscreen, 3 makeup vouchers, 1 eyebrow fix voucher, and RM10 borders voucher (min RM100 purchase, good for my dad and his crime novels!).

Prior to the workshop, at the purchase of the workshop entry (RM50), participants can choose an additional item from lippies, lipgloss, liquid foundation and eye gel. So I was advice by beauty bloggers to get the eye gel because it is worth RM180!

After the workshop, we get to redeem RM50 for an RMK item. Since I went to the afternoon session, I was told that all the sharpeners and lip care (less than RM50) have all been redeemed by the morning session participants. I totally doubt that, because that is such a bad thing to say about your supportors, RMK! Here is to RMK staffs (not that I know you are reading my blog, just my personal note): You should never imply or suggest to other potential customers of yours, that you have cheap customers, because it says what lousy staffs you have (for accusing the morning sessions supportors) and basically, you just look down on people who comes to your workshops! RMK just probably think we are all losers, a bunch of no gooders looking for freebies, can be manipulate to be on their side. Well, hello?!?! RMK, if you are not well equipped with your items after every workshop, does it show you are not sincere when setting up workshops? Do you even know what is the real purpose companies have workshops? To promote your stuffs and increase sales! But you have insufficient stuffs at your counters, because everything I asked for, is not in stock.

OK, so I went with an RMK pencil (lipliner) in lovely light pink. Not my first choice but they don't have many selections. And since I went to the workshop with a friend, we both got a pink nail polish as well. Later I heard there was not enough nail palishes to give out to those who came with a friend to the workshop. Hmm, another proof of poor management. I wonder who is trying to rip off who.

Oh, you think this is the end of it? Wait till you see what's next:

See what those red arrows are pointing at? The freebies Skin Tuner and eye gel was manufactured in 2007, which is more than 3 years! Probably they were thinking, hey it's free, so what's the big deal. Hey, no one sells expired products except very unscrupulous companies. Oh the lipliner that I purchased after the workshop, that I paid with my good money, was manufactured in 2005! Unbelievable! My god sister, authorised representative for an expensive skincare company, advised me best to just throw it in the bin, because it is just too rotten to put something like that on my lips. Did I tried to contact RMK? Yes, called them and they are willing to change it to products manufactured in 2006! That's the earliest they have on their stocks. Very very dissapointing. I am going to stay far far away from RMK. Who wants those makeup vouchers, please email me. They are an eyesore yuck.

New Hairdo w Liese Hair Dye

My hair was previously unruly and long, I always plait/braid it, to keep it in place.

Wanna know how bad my hair colouring was???

I chose the Marshmallow Brown, heard it's a popular choice. I reckon my colour should turn out the first row, because of the black regrowth.

Liese is about RM38 at Sasa, but once I saw them on promotion at RM28! That's a good bargain! I bought 2, of the same colour, and already sent the other one to cushycottage!

After Liese
Hair is still quite damp, as I don't blow dry my hair anymore (how possible when it is so humid in Malaysia!). Yay, even colour for my whole head!

Yup I can see burgundy brown when under flash or light. You can see how light it is around the forehead, when it's dry.

I still have not taken proper shots of my new hair colour yet, but will have full shots later.

After talking to some other users of Liese Hair Dye, everyone claims it can't hide white hair and this is true! So, mum, not the one for you!

Black is the new White? I never could understand all these phrase lol Well I recently cut my nails short, and short nails only go with black or dark nail colours hahaha

This brand of nail polish, called "Shine Shine Emily Nail Enamel" is really superb! It's cheap (like RM3 each) and pigmented colours. It's not those transparent nail colours, that showed on the bottle but never on your nails! Well, I can't just leave it as black right, so I got some nail stickers on them.

Now, where I got my inspiration from?

My old phone, Nokia N95 8GB! Well, it's also my old camera (5MP was really great) till I got Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR. So anyway, see those little stars around the screen, on the phone shield? Cute isn't it? I got it at Daiso for RM5!

And I got a cool theme too, on this phone. I love Nokia phones, functional and never fails. I have no fate with LG (I spent a bomb on getting the red LG Chocolate when it launched a few years back), but the poor reception, uninstallable games, especially the lousy reception (did I mentioned that already?).

Cellnique Part 2 Sebum Gel

I have lots of blackheads, so I scrub and scrub my face. Also I go for facial sessions that do extractions on blackheads. Since becoming a member of Cosway early this year, I came across Bioglo Blackhead Lotion.

This is really a lotion. And the application is immersely troublesome. Wet a cotton pad with this, put it on areas of face that has blackheads, then a hot towel over it. After 10 minutes, remove everything, and uses those black cotton buds to swab the skin surface. Didn't work on me. Stubborn blackheads grrr

This is Cellnique Sebum Gel, really famous in the world now. Easy application, just pump a pea size on face and rub it in (after toning step). No waiting necessary, go on to moisturiser step. Smell: minty

Took this enlarge picture of my nose. Eeek sorry for the gigantic nostril >.< I put arrows there on some really obvious stubborn blackheads.

Well, pictures say a thousand words! I'll definitely continue using this Cellnique Sebum Gel, I not only uses it around my nose, also on my forehead, temples and chins :)

Cellnique Part 1 Toner

Recently there was lots of going on at home and at work, and was not able to do my blogging. At work, my own business is running an expansion, with lots of new knowledge to acquire and master with. And lots of extra clients to provide assistance to. But that's all good because it means more income ^^

At home, my dear Aunt Jenny (dad's younger sister) has recently passed away in Ipoh. It was very unexpected and her demise is much cried. Aunt Jenny was a very beautiful lady when she was young. In the early 1970s, guys in Mercedes will come to woo her at m y grandma's home ^^ I think it was Auntie Jenny that introduced me into nail polish and red lipsticks. I'll always remember her fondly..

Well, onwards to more happier stuffs, which is my beauty reviews!

What is Cellnique? Founded by Mr Chew (electric engineering background!), launched around 1997 in Malaysia and later in Singapore. Cellnique is very agressively active in the beauty blogger world because of their generousity in giving out samples for us to try before we buy. So, there was alot of good reviews out there, let's check out mine.

For the last 6 months I have been using these brands of toner.

Skin Conditioner by Naris Up for 360ml - Huge bargain for this toner, because it is huge and cheap, for a toner that claims to have collagen. I wish this is a great toner for me to keep, but it isn't. My moituriser does not, I repeat DOES NOT absorb into my skin after this toner. Totally weird and annoying, because I feel like it is wasting my moituriser, and acting as a barrier. So, not a good toner.
Acmedica by Naris Up for 150ml - Nyeh, did not stop any pimple from popping up eventhough it said this is a medicated toner. But at least it did allow my moisturiser to melt into my skin hehe
Freshel Lotion by Kanebo for 200ml - Best toner for me this year, as I've used 2 bottles already! It can also cleanse off excess makeup and oil on my face, so its NOT just water.

What I like: The spray cap. Most toner you need to pour it out. With this, I just spray it straight on my clean face (with eyes close of course ^_*). It smell of herbal because of the 14 plant extract ingredients. No, I did not have any allergic reaction to it. Does my moisturiser sink into my face after toning? Yes, indeed. Basically, that is what I want most with my toner.

This is my own test on good toner & good moisturiser. Far left, is my clean matte face after toning with Cellnique and moisturise with Freshel Milk Lotion. Faces going right side, are every hour after that. No longer matte face, but oilier and shinier (from 8pm to 11pm). Well, could be any reason, that my moisturiser is not hydrating enough or those 2 doesn't work well together, or something else. But in all honesty, I just think my face is super oily >.<

Salina from Mashimarokisses sent me a love package recently! She has a great blog on some dramatic EOTDs that I always checked out and really great sense of fashion too!

My first trial on Laneige mascara and lipgloss! These are definitely going into my everyday makeup pouch in my handbag. Gonna be so useful, to touch up me face looking pretty like a doll all da time!

So, a little note I wrote/made for Salina, as a token of appreciation and I'm glad to have her as a friend!

Too short of a post if I just end here, so I'll talk fair bit of Biteki magazine (I'm still reading it lol). That's because it got really good glossy pictures and lots of beautiful products in it!

Why Lunasol in Malaysia do not package their stuffs like they do in Japan??? Ain't this a beauty? Biteki magazine repeatedly post this baby Lunasol package all over the mag. I guess we gotta look out for it in some beauty blogger reviews soon!

Also, these baby Jill Stuart package is also repeatedly photographed in the mag. I also saw some beauty bloggers already got their hands on them! They swear they ain't touching that nail stickers for life, well I would swear the same too!

Japan is big on L'occitane! nearly every alternate page is a product of L'occitane. Look out gals, makeup range from L'occitane is coming to town! For Malaysians, got your RM40 stamp card yet? Heard you gonna get RM135 worth of L'occitane products with it at Mid Valley from 1st week of August!

Oooo Laura Mercier Secret Finish! Another item I already seen some blogger getting their hands on it. You can get it in liquid or wax, but I'll stick with my BeneFit Dr Feel Good balm for the time being, as I don't think I am that fair to choose light green paste.

How do I create nice frames for my photos?

1st, I google for free digital scrapbooking kits
2nd, I uses Microsoft Publisher as the software (it's free with MS Office!)
3rd, save your project as 'jpeg' files

How long did I take to create them?

I only create the photo frame once, and use it for every picture on the same post. So creating one frame takes about 30 minutes, depends how many elements I want to put in. Once the frame is set, I just replace the pictures.

Why do I do it?

To subsidised for my poor quality photos lol

FOTD with Dory

Same model from previous post, BITEKI July 2010 issue. She did something orangy to her eyes and I really like it, gives me a warm happy feeling. On the right, are the apparatus to give such look to the model.

Obviously my FOTD ain't exactly similar to the model, but I'm just trying to copy the blush here lol I think coral blushers are very popular atm and its to highlight the cheek and give the face a more slim look.

Since this FOTD gives me such happy feelings, I took some playful photos with my baby pug Dory.

Dory is 1 year old now! She weighs 7kg (urghh heavy!), loves to chew all her fluffy toys (currently obsessed with a blue dolphin), loves to lick (arghhh wet licks!), and most importantly loves her mummy & daddy!

Salabianca Revolutionize

I went to this for the Salabianca bracelet only (muahahaha) but met up with lovely Fatin & Tammy & Jean & Sharon & Doroshi. This event also do up your hair and with MAC makeup but I really really just want the bracelet only (muahahaha again ;p) so I skip that hair & makeup session (big mistake!) and I don't like the pictures that came out >.< But I still have the Salabianca bracelet (ok no more evil laugh) and a wonderful lunch with the gals!

Phew this post is kinda tiring, compare to the others because I went searching for pictures and the right links! But it was all worth it, because I met so many amazing gals with same interest with me (my SO can rest his ears now, as I got a gang of gals to talk makeup with!).

BITEKI mag gwp FOTD

I was in Kinokuniya and bought BITEKI July magazine. No, I can't read Japanese or Chinese. This mag is 570 yen, equivalent to AUD5.40 but it was selling RM30. Kinda double >.< but it came with a gwp!

Neal's Yard Remedies Facial Serum with notepads. I've never seen this brand before so I want to try it out. It's tiny!

The mag talks alot about this Neal's Yard brand, it seems reasonably price (when I convert the yen to AUD). So I will check it out later on the web, see if other bloggers out there are using this.

What caught me in this magazine is the model's eyes. I wanna do a FOTD on it! Here is a snapshot of it, with and without flash.

So the theme is purple, here are my few attempts on the eyes without eye lash falsies.

As you can see above, I still have not put on my lashies yet. I can tell you, false eye lashes do make alot of difference on the face! Why is that?!?!

Phew lots of work to be pretty looking lol Might as well show you more potraits taken, not go to waste eh, after all the work!

Urban Decay Face Case

My very first Urban Decay ownership! YAY! Thanks to cushycottage my dearest sweety sis!

The casing is made of magic lol From afar yes it's purple, but under certain warm light, it has a maroon burgundy reddish plum purplish colour! Do I make any sense??? The material on the casing is like Nars, rubbery velvety, so got to be away from any loose powder around hehe

Tadah! The first thing that it hits me, when I first opened it, is the chocolaty smell of it! I don't know where the smell comes from but later realised it's from the 3 lip glosses! Yummy, really yummy. It's smells just like a cake.

So now come to experimenting this face palette! Firstly, I'll mix 2 of my bb creams. Tony Moly has the spf 45 and since it is quite a fair shade, I'll mix it with The Face Shop because it is of darker shade and do not have spf. Voila, best of both world lol

Right: With BB cream ^_^ fairer, smoother face texture and less obvious on the acne

Gold (Midnight Cowboy Rides Again) is not that pigmented, just very super glitter, so I used it near the brows as a highlighter. Pink (Grigter) is really nice, quite light. Brown (Twice Beauty) is just a superb dark chocolate brown, will be my favourite dark brown for now!

Eyeliner: BeneFit BadGal pencil
Mascara: Maybelline Volume Express (yellow tube)

I can use these e/s everyday! It can be light and casual, but I'm sure I can make it more dramatic for night wear as well. This face is kinda unfinished because no blush (Hookup) and lip glosses (Love Junkie, Naked & Carney). By the time I put it on, SO is hurrying me out the door and I left my camera at home >.<

Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub
I was actually looking for a clay type face scrub because of my oily face, but I could not resist getting this! Peach smell & willowbark as natural source of salicylic acid; Hawaiian Ginger & Seaweed extract increases circulation & removes oil. The exfoliation comes from finely ground peach stones.
Price: RM 50+ (RM 30+ after 40% discount!!!)
Smell: Wonderfully peachy, with mild coconut oil
Feeling after using: Squeaky clean face, no makeup trace nor scrub residue. Face is still soft!

Burt's Bees Sun Protecting Lip Balm
Smell & Taste: Passionfruit! Come on, how amazing! I <3 passionfruit!!!
SPF: 8

Burt's Bees Hand Salve
Smell: Strong lavendar. Although it does contain almond oil, olive oil, beeswax, rosemary oil, eucalyptus oil; but the lavendar conquers all! Said to have Vitamin E, too.
Feeling after using: The balm is surprisingly very smooth, melts like butter into hands, but not oily at all. Just lurves it! This beats bringing a heavy hand cream tube around my handbag lol

Next haul is the Beautylabo Leave-on Hair Treatment!
Smell: Fruity!
Texture: Pink gel, spread smoothly over palm
Treatment for: Coloured/Damaged/Split end hair
Feeling after using: It's definitely not oily on my hair, the absorbtion level was swift, so it leaves my hair smooth.
Affectiveness: I think my hair is beyond repair or any form of help :( It's still very frizzy and dry and out of place. I may cut my hair short, but I'm still can't make up my mind yet about this.

Have anyone came across Interfila? My sis dear friend works for this company, that supplies cosmetic ingredients to Red Earth, Elianto & many others. Google said it comes from a cosmetic company called Intercos!

Got this box of lovely eyeliner crayons, called Tonic Turbulence.

Smell: None

Texture: Extremely soft, breaks easily in fact

Colours: Neon bright & shiny but no traces of speckles/glitters

Price: N/A as I have not seen this on any shelf yet. Have you?

I love the box, as it has a string at the base. So I'm gonna use this to hold my brushes when traveling. and the covers are magnetic!

EOTD gold then purple

Just a few EOTDs to share and perhaps get some helpful tips on what I should and should not do next time. I'm quite new on EOTDs, but I love colours and love to mix things up from different palettes and not just stick to one. A really bad habit of mine is: lay out all the e/s colours and then pick and choose! Not very safe eh cause' colours might clash lol

I got this lovely Shu Uemura palette from Fatin @ Chocolatecatsz and it is really beautiful! So is she ^_*

This palette comes with 3 e/s (gold bronze, burgundy, baby blue) and a natural beige can be either for face contour (I usually mix this with a sparkly blusher so that it is less sparkly). I <3 the gold bronze and use it many many times now.

OK, for my next EOTD I'll be using the lovely purplish Coffret D'or (again hehe).

I tried to do a successful swatch with this palette, but I don't know how the light plum colour does not show up that obvious in my swatch. I really like this plum colour, although you may not see it that clear here (as I got a lousy phone camera >.<) but it is like a combination of purple and pink!

I have really weird eye shape as I can't seem to connect my eyeliner at the far end corner.If I draw them connected, I kinda have droopy eyes. So I am at wits end what to do! So normally I just leave it out, not connecting my eyeliner, so there is always a gap there.

NOTM for June

For the month of June, I have been especially crazy over my nails. According to SO, guys don't really give a f**k about we girls nails LOL I know I know, but we do it in the name of fun! Here are just my tiny stash of nail stuffs. I have no any particular brands that I like, just colours. Isn't it hard to remember all the colours that we have? Do you have the same problem as me: went out to get some nail varnish colours, coming back home to discover you got a near similar same colour!

These nail stickers are amazing! Some are even glow-in-the-dark~ They don't cost much, can get them at night markets or hawkers around the shopping malls. Lowest I got was RM2 per pack! Most of them are white in colour, so it is more appropriate for dark background colour. When I see nail stickers that aren't white, I just grab them, as they are very rare!

Top: These colourful flowers last 2 weeks before chipping off! Amazing!

Bottom: These stars glow-in-the-dark!

Bought this unbelievable cute nail art for RM6. Then I bought some generic nail glue for RM4. I am not a creative person at all, when it comes to nail art, but regardless with these, my nails just look so niceeeee!

The fruits thingy did not last a day! Not because of the glue, but I was picking on them. It is so hard not to resist. So what recent nail stuffs you babes did? Share it with me~ Give me some inspirations~

Liese and Lucidol hair tools

Had a RM10 dry hair cut at Maju Junction Mall yesterday, cheapest I have ever been to, and realised now never again LoL Nobody likes coming out a hair salon looking worse than when going in! The hairdresser (guy) snippity here and there (as I said I want my ends trim) and said "done" after 5 minutes. Biggest reason is because he probably was not able to convince me that I needed a treatment of RM70.

Oh well, I'll do my own hair treatment then ^^

There's a big hype on Liese hair products in Malaysia recently. So now I am trying out the green Hair Cocktail for normal oily hair. There is an orange bottle for damage dry hair. This is a leave-on conditioner. I can see there are 3 layers of liquid and I got to give it a good shake before using it. It got a peachy smell and the liquid is quite oily, so I have to rinse my hands afterwards. As for the conditioning results: it's ok for me, but that's because my hair may be really damage >.< Got to try that orange bottle then!

Let's see what else I have. I hardly uses the Osis cream, but only when I want my curls to have a wet look. The Asience conditioner smells good and sweet and it is still an ok conditioner for me. It still gets to rinse off, like it is super slippery and does not really stick to my hair and condition it. The best is hair tool is Lucidol!!!

I uses the hair mist prior to heating my hair, as it did say it can act as a layer of shield and protect the hair from heating. After styling my hair, I'll spray with the hair spray to let the style stays. And it really stays, even after 2 nights! But my hair is still soft and not stiff. The hairspray also gives my hair a bit of wet look, which I really like.

Just to keep my hair neat, I do this most of the time when I'm at home. Sometimes I even sleep on it, as I totally forgot! It's quite loosely plaited. Ugh just realised my hair colour is so off! Blek

So the curls aren't that frizzy, but when I just leave my hair to dry naturally after a shower, it can be really really frizzy! I want to have a longer hair length, probably till below my breast but it kinda stuck and remain on my breast level. Why is that so? My last hair colouring was done in February. And I only curl my natural wavy hair like once a week. So why doesn't it grow faster??? Any tips?
